Biography:
Holly T. Boland grew up in Patrick County, Virginia in the foothills of
the Blue
Ridge Mountains. She attended Virginia Tech for her undergraduate and graduate
education. Her M.S. thesis work evaluated the grazing behavior of beef
steers
grazing endophyte-infected, endophyte-free, and novel endophyte infected
tall
fescue and Lakota prairie grass. Her Ph.D. dissertation research examined
the spatial allocation of forages and its impact on grazing behavior, diet
selection and dry matter intake of beef steers. She also conducted projects
on weaning stress in beef calves and the effects of horn fly infestation
on grazing behavior while at Virginia Tech.
