Over 200 undergraduate students choose Animal and Dairy Science as their major at Mississippi State University. We want you to join us! If you are interested in the science of animals: nutrition, physiology, and genetics – and if you would like a career in the field of animal science this is the place for you.
If you are interested in continuing your education at
a graduate school or college of veterinary medicine after receiving you
Bachelor of Science degree this is a great place to get your start. Incoming
first year students must meet Mississippi State University’s requirements and
can apply
online. Students can also transfer to MSU from other institutions
and must meet requirements
for transfer students. Prospective students

Curriculum: The Animal and Dairy Sciences curriculum is designed with four different concentrations to choose from to allow for flexibility to help students achieve their goals.
Scholarships: Approximately $20,000 in annual scholarships are awarded by the Department each year.
Financial Aid: Mississippi State University’s Department of Financial Aid assists students with financial aid opportunities.
Activities, Clubs, Organizations: The Department of Animal and Dairy Sciences encourages its students to take advantage of the many experiences offered by the departmental student organizations and teams. Clubs are a great way to develop leadership skills and to learn about the various animal industries.
