Graduate Studies



Mississippi State University is a great place to get a graduate degree. With the ever-changing job market and advancements in science, an advanced degree will make you more competitive in the search for your career. There are approximately 20 graduate students that call the Department of Animal and Dairy Sciences home.

Prospective students must meet the University requirements for admission and must have a faculty member who is willing to serve as their major professor. Please see the list of faculty in Animal and Dairy Science to see if one fits with your research interests. Students can apply on-line to the MSU Graduate School. To be considered for Departmental assistantship funding, applications must be complete and submitted no later than March 1 for summer or fall entry or November 1 for spring entry.
